Beyblade X Meta Report: September 2026 so far

By Alberto ·

By September 19th, 161 tournament placements are logged for the month. On its own that number means nothing — a month is only 19 days in, and the honest question is whether 161 is low, on pace, or ahead. Answering it means comparing against how the same first-19-days window looked in previous months, not against the eventual full-month total.

Why this report treats September’s numbers as incomplete

Across May, June, July and August 2026, the placements counted by day 19 ranged from 42% to 84% of that month’s eventual full-month total — averaging around 60%. Applied to September, that pattern would put the expected count by day 19 somewhere between roughly 600 and 1,000, extrapolating from August’s own 1,203-placement month. What’s actually logged is 161 — far below every one of those four months’ pace, not just below the average.

That gap is almost certainly reporting lag on the WBO forum threads this site scrapes, not a real 85%+ drop in tournament activity. Beyblade X tournaments don’t stop happening because a report is being written; results get posted to the forum with a delay that varies week to week, and September’s posting appears to be running well behind where August’s was at the same point in its month. Treat everything below as a snapshot of what’s visible right now, not a claim about what actually happened on the ground this month — the two are not the same thing in September’s data, whatever they are in a completed month like August.

What’s leading, for what it’s worth

With that caveat attached, the current placements-so-far ranking has Wizard Rod 1-60 Hexa on top with 14, followed by Silver Wolf 9-60 Free Ball with 7, Wizard Rod 1-60 Free Ball with 5, Shark Scale 1-70 Low Rush with 5, and Shark Scale 3-60 Low Rush with 3. That’s the same top names that led August’s full month — Wizard Rod 1-60 Hexa’s position at #1 is consistent with a combo that just posted a full podium sweep (1st-2nd-3rd) at Mata Nui’s X Extravaganza 2 on the 19th itself, so at least that entry looks like signal rather than an artifact of incomplete data.

What this early count can’t tell us is whether August’s risers — Cobalt Dragoon 5-60 Elevate, which nearly tripled its placements last month, and the two Shark Scale Low Rush builds — are still climbing, holding, or cooling off. Their September numbers so far are too thin against too short a window to say anything, and comparing them to August’s full-month totals directly would repeat the exact mistake this report is trying to avoid.

That mistake is worth spelling out with the clearest example in this month’s data. Wizard Rod 1-60 Hexa logged 125 placements in all of August; so far in September it’s at 14. Read naively, that looks like a combo in freefall — a 90% drop for the site’s own #1-scored build. It isn’t one: 14 placements by day 19 of a month that historically lands 42-84% of its total by that point isn’t a decline, it’s the same lag affecting every combo in this report, landing hardest on whichever combo had the most placements to lose. Cobalt Dragoon 5-60 Elevate shows the identical pattern at smaller scale, 24 placements in August against 3 so far in September. Neither number says anything about September’s actual meta yet.

What next month’s report will actually be able to say

Once September closes and the lag catches up, next month’s report will compare a complete month against a complete month — the only comparison that’s fair. Until then, the one thing worth carrying forward is the historical day-19 share itself: if a future month’s early count looks unusually low or high against that 42-84% range again, that’s the signal to check for lag before reading it as a trend, not the other way around.

Numbers in this report are frozen at publication (161 tournament placements counted for 2026-09) and are not recalculated as more results come in later.
